Thoroughbred Sires of Quarter Horses, compiled by Susan Larkin; published by Loshadt Publishing, Houston, TX. Soft cover, plastic comb binding; 220 pgs. Sturdy laminated washable covers.

Stallions featured include Chicaro, Uncle Jimmie Gray, Ashwell (found in the pedigree of Leo P-1335), Band Time, Beggar Boy, Dennis Reed (sire of Oklahoma Star P-6), Doc Horn, Eck Davis, War Bam, The Hero, Porte Drapeau, Los Molinos, Joe Blair (sire of Joe Reed P-3), Pride of India, Patriotic, Hygro, Gray Dream, John Wilkens, Lantados, Scorcher, Requested, Peace Pipe, and more. You'll find many of these sires very closely related to each other once you study their bloodlines.

Many sires are included in this publication that were not featured in any previous books I've done.

172 extended pedigrees (subject horses plus 6 generations) of Thoroughbred stallions foaled before 1940, found in Quarter Horse bloodlines. Arranged alphabetically; indexed by sires and maternal grandsires. Foaling years given on all horses in the pedigrees through the 5th generation.

This book will also allow you to trace the lineage of many other Thoroughbreds, using the extensive pedigree index. These pedigrees are old enough to trace horses back to the early 1800s. Many foreign horses, usually difficult to find, are found in these pedigrees.

Additional bloodline information on hundreds of other Thoroughbred sires of Quarter Horses, with 3-generation pedigrees and QH foals listed on selected stallions. A complete pedigree index of all horses back to the 5th generation is one of the best features of this book.

Many U. S. Gov't. Remount Thoroughbred stallions are included here, along with other fairly obscure sires which are difficult to trace unless you had access to the stud books. Much pre-computer/CD based information is available here, too. Available for $50 (postpaid within the US).

Look for my newest book, Quarter Running Horse Mare Lines soon!
